Mission moves to the beautiful outdoors of Ithaca!

I was on another mission in the wonderfully green outdoors of Ithaca. You can see me crawling to a new strategic position at the shores of Cayuga lake. This is one of the many beautiful lakes in the Fingelakes region in Upstates New York. I wasn't making a lot of progress with my crawling, but it was a good learning experience. There was a train passing by our position, and it got me really excited when I was being breastfed. You know, you can't forget about nourishment even on important missions, can you?

Activity Gym!

I love my activity gym, see how much fun I have when I lie down under its two colorful arches. The best thing about it is that you don't have to do much to be entertained. Of course, I kick a lot with my legs and shake my hands like crazy, but even if I don't do that, there are three stuffed creatures hanging from the arches, and they dance and sing for me. Who sais being an infant is not fun?

Seeking the light!

Do you anything about "tummy time"? I have a few of those every day. Infants like me need to practice their head-lifting and crawling skills every day. Or almost every day. It is more fun if we do it on a hard floor with some soft material to cushion all the baby fat and other stuff that comes in between.

Me on a mission!

I know, this might seem unbelievable to you, but every once in a while, I go on a mission. I have my full set of uniform, body armor, head gear, and protective equipment for my missions.
On the right, you can see my mission companioin and navigation guide, Mr right-buzz. Most reliable navigation with rosy cheeks, indeed a rare combination.
In my missions, the seat that you observe in the picture gets transferred to my dad's very fast car, and off we go to our adventures in the real world. It is indeed fun when I go on a mission with a full stomach. Beats any James Bond mission by far!

My first official "social smile"

One of the biggest deals for new parents is an infant's smile. Anytime I have a visitor, my parents are asked: "does he smile yet?" So as you can imagine, there is a lot of pressure on my parents to make me smile. And I have to say that they are really good at making me smile!
This photo is from when I was a little less than four weeks old. I couldn't hold it any longer, as they were anxious to see it.

Vaccination is not fun

So, I have been asked why I have become lazy in writing my blog. Well, you know, being an infany is not easy. And it gets harder when you get your first vaccination.
I got my first set of vaccines after coming home last Friday. My dad and mom took me to the doctor's office. The doctor was a nice guy, and I briefly smiled at him so he wouldn't give me a hard time. I had no idea what was going to happen next.
Then he left and in came a nurse, with four loaded syringes in her hand. She gave me two shots in each thigh. It is good that I have built up some baby fat recently, otherwise it would have been much harder.
Anyway, I am now getting some immunity to some big killer bugs, but believe me, it wasn't fun. It is good that my mom was there to soothe me, and that infants have such a short memory.

lifting my head up!

Infants are special beings: an impossible combination of hope, innocence, and perseverance. Look how I am struggling with learning to lift my head up, so I can start exploring the world, and seeing what is going on around me.
Once I learn this, there will be no stopping me!

Moo and me

The life of infants like me is not very complicated. Day after day, we learn to do new things, and establish our life routines. But one of the really fun parts of our lives is the making of new friends. Moo is one of my dear new friends. She is a white, bright, independent cow. Unlike real-life cows out there grazing in the fields, she is of the perfect size to hang around with me. And she has the right consistency, so I can squeeze her whenever I wish.
Did you ever have a friend like that?

Infants and the art of first-time-ness

When you are an infant like me, every thing in life is a first-time. When you sneeze, it is your first sneeze. When you smile, it is your first. And that is why my parents are always jumping up and down, adrenaline rushing in their blood, for every little new move that I make.
I have to tell them, come on guys, relax! See how peaceful I can be, especially after a warm bath in my little bathtub.
